images/whtdollar_line_w.gif (7994 bytes)Disbursements Bookkeeper - The role of the Disbursements Bookkeeper in a non-profit Community Action Agency has become more that just a bill paying function.   This change is due to two major factors, the age of computers and the need for increased accountability.

The Office of Human affairs uses a Purchase Order system to ensure that appropriated budgetary funds are available prior to obtaining goods and services that are necessary to perform agency functions.  Vouchering is also a part of the agency system.  This adds two additional steps to ensure that the correct budget codes are being used and the appropriate programs are charged.  The Bookkeeper also monitors all on-going accounts to ensure that they are beneficial to the agency, and is responsible for timely and accurate disbursements to vendors for approved purchases.

The Bookkeeper can be reached at (757)247-0071, extension 311.
